About the Progress Association

The Empire Bay Progress Association Inc. (EBPA) is a non profit organisation that supports our local area and districts and other community groups. We are responsible for maintaining and hiring the Progress Hall which is owned by the community. For information regarding Hall Hire  >>>

EBPA RECENT ACHIEVEMENTS

Special Recognition from Adam Crouch MP, State Minister for Terrigal >>>

​

EBPA is instrumental in raising grants to to protect the 100 year old Hall and reconstruct and pave Empire Bay's local roads and provide play areas for our local children. EBPA has been successful in procuring the following grants:

  • Greenfield Rd reconstruction (2018-2020) - $1.8m provided by the State Government to the Central Coast Council to completely repair Greenfield Rd, the main artery of the Bay, including footapths, gutters, kerbing and drainage.

  • Shelly Beach Rd reconstruction and drainage (2022-2024) - $3m provided by Federal Government  

  • New playspace for the community (2019-2020) - $350,000 funds provided by the NSW State Government and Central Coast Council. With new play equipment including a pump track and exercise stations, boulder climber and updated BBQs, this park is a fantastic place for all the community to enjoy.

  • Upgrade the Hall (2018 -) - $35,000 from NSW Government, Community Partnership grant (2018) - internal and external painting, fix windows, new awning and pier.

  • Installation air-conditioner in Hall (2018) - $18,000 from NSW Government Community Partnership grant  

  • Installation solar (2019) - energy bills reduced substantially

  • Flooding mitigation and plumbing works (2020) - $4,101 grant NSW Government

  • Restoration Empire Bay Cenotaph (2020) - $4,906 grant from Department Veteran Affairs

  • New smart TV and sound system (2022) - $4,500 grant from Central Coast Council

  • Resurfacing Rickard Rd (2023) - $1.8m part of the Australian Government election promise (completed 2024)

  • Recladding of Empire Bay Progress Association Hall (2024) - $50,000 from the NSW Government Infrastructure Grants program (Dec 2023)

  • Cenotaph (2024) - $8,500 grant from NSW Veteran Affairs Community War Memorial Fund

ASSOCIATION MEETINGS

All residents of Empire Bay are welcome to join the Empire Bay Progress Association (EBPA). New ideas and events are always welcome. 

Membership is $5 pa and entitles members after 6 months of joining the Association to vote on any matters at our bi-monthly meetings and elect or stand for a position on the Executive Committee (conditions apply).

Meeting dates for 2024

21 February (AGM), 1 May, 11 Sept (meet the candidates), last meeting Nov/Dec TBA

Commencing at 7.30 pm in the Progress Hall (1-3 Gordon Rd, Empire Bay).

Everyone is welcome to stay after the meeting for a cuppa and chat.

EMPIRE BAY & DISTRICTS NEWSLETTER

Our free community newsletter, is distributed every two months to 2,500 homes in Empire Bay, Bensville, parts of Daleys Point and local businesses the end of January, March, May, July, September and November.
